For beginners only.

It does feel like a year end. Since my course always begins and ends around June, so half a year seems like the start of something new or the end of it. But we’re not here for a long time. We’re here for a good time. Life is a constant pattern of remember forget, remember forget. Today I met a good old friend on facebook and we just had a decent chat. You know that kind of feeling when you meet someone, whether an old friend or a complete stranger, you feel like it was the best conversation you ever had in years? Especially the kind that just makes you want to do well in life? I dont know, but some people have that kind of effect. The feeling just floors on me everytime I think about it. It’s awesomazing.

Anyway, I realize I haven’t written for a long time since I began writing. I have spent so much time doing other things and nothing at all. Birding has been my latest distraction since my partner introduced me to it. I’m a real beginner. I was once a common tree watcher who slowly took interest in the world of birds out of curiosity. It took me a while to get the hang of it but it was really fun after all. It does keep my mind off things and just be closer to nature. I don’t know, but birds can be very interesting to watch. Their activities encourage us to stop whatever we're doing and watch them as they flutter around, eating bird food (be it seed, fruit or nectar), protecting their young, building their nests – and more. Plus it’s a great way to relax and enjoy some quiet time. No matter where you live or visit, there are always birds to watch and enjoy.

Going through half a year makes me feel like I haven’t done anything much worth half a year, though a lot has happened really. In fact there were many life turners happening at one time that I couldn’t keep up with some of them sometimes. But I got through them thanks to my loved ones, for whom without I wouldn’t manage to get this far. I thank you for your support and unconditional faith in me. Being a beginner in many things makes me realize how important God is and those around you.

I remember talking about these things with mom. Having mom around is always fun. The more we hang, the more I learn about my family history and what she was up to when she was my age. And of course she gets to learn more about my life and we speak like adults who are fond of each other, each with new & old wisdom to share.

I am who I am today because my mom encouraged me to do it. If you have kids, or if you work with kids, or simply have access to kids (but not in a creepy sort of way) don’t wait for them to decide what they want to do. Encourage them to try it all on. I worry our kids are racing to be adults when what I mostly see around me are adults racing back to being kids.

Perhaps I don’t make sense at all. But I am grateful for everything that I have in life now, knowing God has made it better for me everyday. The tools I rely on to keep me awake are everything from mothers to strangers, suffering to positive stories, retweets to sweet foods, reflection as prayer, and smiling as a form of relief. I've seen many ideas born and many ideas perish. I've lost things and relatives to the untimeliness of passing. And I've known kids and cancer alike and at present the score seems to be even. Thereby I choose death just as I choose rain. It simply is - and it is so. And just as I acknowledge I am - I let go.

Well, summer is in now. So keep your sunny smile and shine on! Begin doing something. We are all beginners. We haven’t done this before. You haven’t been you on this day before. I haven’t been someone’s solid rock before. I haven’t been me at 23 before. Maybe I still haven't, but I'm getting there. Each day is new and we’re all allowed to fall down as often as we need to. It is through these mistakes and fumbles that we’ll likely get it right next time.

Keep it light.

#Rant 101

So here I am spending some of my precious Saturday morning hours in bed, writing away to you know who about you know what. Well nothing mysterious about that; thought I’d be more creative in telling the usual stories of mine a.k.a rants while keeping you busy to read on. Wink.

I guess the page is lacking more and more life since I don’t know when. Or perhaps I was just being unenthusiastic to share what has been going on in my life as it has been getting more and more personal. And when I say personal, it does not necessarily mean I’m all messed up or too busy catching up with stuff. In fact, life has been good and that I’ve been receiving a lot more blessing than I have ever been up till now. Alhamdulillah :)

Well I feel that when you have some goodness happening around you or to you, it’s best shared with everyone else who deserves the same feeling and thus, a celebration of joy. I have been through many wonderful experiences as of late and met many amazing people- even falling in love with some of them. The world’s pleasure is too much to be kept only to yourself that you can have so little at one time; but if shared with everyone else, it feels like you have a little bit of everything at any given moment. Ain’t that awesome?

I can’t remember the reason why I first started writing up this blog. Was I trying to prove anything, believing I could channel my thoughts into something better? I highly doubt that. I rant because it’s fun I could care less if I ever made any sense at all. Or was it because out of boredom? That’s more likely. It doesn’t matter though, I still don’t see why I’m doing what I’m doing sometimes. Many times I went to my room to get my mobile/books/you name it- anything, I'd completely forgotten about the task. I could blame it on where my mind had wandered - but this always happens. I walk into a room and forget what I went in there for. Maybe I'm so over the past and so in the moment that freshness finds me around every corner. Or it's a classic case of short term memory loss brought on by too many hours gazing directly into the sun and the amazing sky. What was I writing about?

Or maybe this is the reason why I blog after all- I just love to write. I guess Love is back in the season. It’s back in a different form, with more energy to fill you up with and a lot warmer this coming summer. I may just change the blog title to Lovemovesthroughyou, as I feel love is in the movement. But maybe not. God is Love, Compassion, Blessing in Himself and thus owns the many eternal attributes that defining Him as Love alone won’t do justice. So God stays :)

Speaking of which, it’s already February and I’ve almost forgotten about my coming age. I’m turning 23(?) soon and I resolve to be more resourceful this year (this was actually last year’s brought forward) because it’s the perfect beginning of my day. If anything, I would love to see how my creativity just grows and floors on me with time. And I believe writing is one of it. It excites my brain cells in different ways yet I feel my inner self interconnected with my surrounding. I feel more alive when I have the freedom to talk when I write and be honest about it. I am more myself when I let my inner strength shine forth. It is as good as being around your loved ones and let loose.

The last time I got home it was both sunny and rainy. Everybody loves the sun. It just brings out the best in them. Rainy KL is like a wet old dog. It smells like shit but you've been friends for so long you can't help but feel a little love.

Oh yes, I’m planning to come home again soon. So are you :)

Dear stomach.

I owe you an apology. I haven’t been treating you well lately. These past few weeks you’d been having far too much or far too little. I ignored the signs you were trying to tell me until they waned over time. Gain or loss, you suffered either way. You certainly deserve a better lovely owner, not this selfish, I-eat-everything kind of a bon vivant.

Just so we're clear, my dear stomach, I’ll be walking us to the nearest buffet complete with nasi briyani and chef, the moment we're done with these rants. I know you've suffered a lot when we hit the gym, but it’s for your own good. Trust me. Perhaps, I’ll reduce the number of crunches so you won’t be in so much pain. Plus, it’s killing my back as of late…well I guess I’ve made my point.

Boy, I hate self pity. Then again, this is for you. :)

Yours truly,

#Rant

You know what’s odd? I relate to bad news better than good news. Not to say I’m used to it, but it seems like I’m more prepared to face sadness than anything else. And I understand things better especially when I don’t want to understand them. Nothing dramatic ever happened to me so far, or should I say rarely, but I do think about the what ifs, so that kinda helps lol. Now what puts me in perspective? Life’s experiences of many, with tiny weeny addition of my own. Well I probably don’t remember much of my past but I sometimes think time slipping away is a bastard. Cold and selfish. Rude and reckless. Well… no reason. It’s self explanatory.

Speaking of which, I loathe self explaining expressions like, “I need you” and stuff because the message is so loud and clear it’s annoying. It makes me feel insufficient, yet important. I just can’t say no to that it’s hard. It’s like my kryptonite. Whattabitch.

Then again, I don’t think it’s selfish when people get personal over jobs/life etc. Not always, really. Unprofessional, some might say. So what? Nothing wrong either. Because, eventually, you do things according to what you want and how you want them to happen and they work out alright. Rules aside, we certainly have personal interests that keep us going; things that make our lives worthwhile. Unless you’re not a person then I think you should be more pissed, why you just can’t get personal at all. Well, it’s a human thing to do. And it’s part of growing up. And to think that we’ve grown up…

And to think that we’ve grown up. Ay, screw that.

*Hey Randomness, your words are preposterous it’s disturbing. I suggest you stop making sense with your profanity now. You have amused me enough :)

I wouldn’t have written this down if I wasn’t myself. I believe when you’re being yourself, there’s no need to feel bad about it. 'Nuff said.

Life's like that.

I think I know now why I don’t become a journalist. I write anything I like at any given time. Though I can follow the rules on what to write and what not to write, somehow I find that restrictive and unappealing. I write at peace as much as at risk, yet I don’t feel obliged to do it. Well you could definitely see if something is forced. Like it is there but not felt. Good, but not good enough.

Then again, it’s funny sometimes when I look back and read what I wrote about positivity and all that energy. Like where did that come from? It was nice to know though that some of you liked the idea and followed through. I’m glad that you felt the same or even better. Good for you :)

Anyways, let me tell you or rather, clarify… what also came to mind when I thought about these things. For instance, when I told you to go ahead and be in love… I meant just that. But because it was only natural to feel so. And sometimes, at some point, part of me wanted to tell you to just go ahead and date someone totally wrong, (i.e. not right for you but maybe worth a try?) I got asked about this a lot. But I would never tell someone to do that because it might not feel right. And because it is something I’m not so sure about, something which I don’t really have an answer to.

Boy, it sure is hell inside my head. Lol.

But if you ask me that if I were to take that chances and things just worked out… I’d probably never have any idea why we ended up together. We might seem like two of the most unlikely people to wind up making sense. And maybe, just maybe, when the time comes and I shall look back at how my friends and I had changed, how our friendship would be different but not necessarily worse, I had a feeling we’d be alright. I guess relationships are just funny like that. It’s impossible to figure out why some work out and others don’t. Why someone can be so imperfect and still be perfect for you. Maybe in the end, it’s not about changing the person you care about. Maybe it’s about learning what you can live with. Or maybe it’s really about learning what you can’t live without.

Well okay, I’m no relationship expert nor do I have any experience whatsoever in it. But I do believe that God gives us the opportunity to learn and gain insights from the people we met and the things that happened in our lives. Each presence or existence has its own purpose, and so many reasons as to why things happened yet waiting to be discovered by you and everyone else. It will all come right in the wash…nothing is a complete waste.

So just remember- when in despair, love… let Him move through you :)

In joy yer day!

[W]rite-ous.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words. ~ Robert Frost

I've noticed that the best poetry comes when everything else is crumbling. Or put together, like it or not :-)

A song for someone.

And now i'm walking in the park
All of the birds they dance below me
Maybe when things turn green again
It will be good to say you know me

I am in repair
I am in repair

*Dear Asa, I wish I'd played this song before you. Hope it's still your one favourite Continuum ;-)

I need a reason to reason.

There’ll be moments when you don’t feel like writing anything even when you think you will or just have that sort of motivation. So I was inspired by many things and people recently. And proudly have written nothing about them as of yet. Procrastination is the word. I’ve been putting off writing to the public because my sentences as of late have been scatterbrained and incomplete.

Anyways, I don’t think it’s a bad thing when you don’t feel awesome. Awesomeness may not be something you feel everyday, but that’s fine. The existence of other feelings is perhaps, just to make you miss the old feeling of being awesome. That it is something special and not just any other feeling that you can get now and then. Rather, it needs to be lived and cherished as much as possible when it is felt. Otherwise, you’ll still experience something else. Something different or equally awesome. So it’s not at all bad, really :-)

Now a random but rather obvious question yet questionable…do you think that everything happens for a reason?

One thing for example- I love medicine yet I don’t know why exactly I’m loving it.

I guess the desire to do it gets stronger each day but the reason just wears away. Maybe I just want to go home someday, thinking that I have done something right…that I have actually saved somebody’s life. Hmm. No superficial nor profound motive. Just that.

As much as I believe in logic and all that statistics, I still hold on to intuition and its 'practicality'. I believe in God’s mysterious way of making things happen and call it hope. And I do believe there’s reason to everything… some are just known to us, some are understood at last. Some are fathomable, and some are just plain complex. But most of the time, it is right before us, we just need some time to think it through. So there is such thing as the “right” moment to realize it. Understanding isn’t something you can get by observing the outcome, but by living the outcome. It is not something you can work out easily only to find out if there’s any meaning to it, but perhaps, time is the only thing that’ll make it meaningful. And that it is not simply a wish, but rather a gift to those who deserve it.

Oh maybe I’ll go see fireworks, someday… and that’s because I just want to see them.

... or prolly get in touch with an old friend, like a scoop of ice cream. Well, I need no reason for that.

Rock it.

I've been screaming without a voice. Due to unexplainable stress. You bet it's fun :-)

Weekends don’t count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless.

Firstable, allow me to thank you for your generous effort for making the Earth Hour possible. I applaud every single one of you :-)

Meanwhile, something totally unrelated…

Sometimes there are people that you care about just can’t talk to you for some reason. That talking to you makes ‘em sad somehow. Sounds familiar? Make me get it.

There are things in life that can’t be classified all that easily. Bonds that happen and break unknowingly; reasons that don’t make sense and sometimes, we dream for unattainable things that have no names. Sounds familiar? Happens to me too.

I thought my life would seem more interesting with a musical score and a laugh track. Otherwise, I’m just taking a short break from this whole revision thing. Hmm.

Homework, I command thee: BE DONE!

Gahhh.

Excuse me while I finish this slice.

I have become unstoppable the as of late. Good. This time, I’m back with some easy breezy, unseen/one-sided love kind of thing, in a pretty simple manner. Some lines are meant to be sappy… reflecting how infatuated a person can be. Well, this is not my first time writing this love/romance genre. I did write a few years back. You can see some here as you browse through the old previous posts. DO NOT feel free to have a look. The rest, which are more incomprehensible ones are in the private community. Yes, feel free to read them ;-)

Anyways, whatever written down here… it is not based on my experience. More like observation, so to speak. Kinda like being able to see the moment when a boy meets girl, a boy falls in love, and a boy breaks down… okay, okay, I made that one last up. But you get my gist. If anything, I’m the most inexperienced love expert. Contradicting? Writers are all that. Trust me ;-)

All feedbacks are welcome :-)

*Dear friends in love, this is for YOU*

All to Myself I Keep

If loving you
is ever so easy
I’ll tell you over and over
indefinitely-

…but this, to myself I keep.
But this, to myself I keep.

I seek not your attention, my sweet
It’s your spirit- keeps me alive indeed
Like a smile can make any day turn bright
Oh, why loving you feels so right.

Your tone is lazy,
exquisite;
Your words, they’re
hanging, on a teaspoon-

singing,
to no tune;
dancing,
on a moon.

like flowers
these feelings, wilt;
but it’s me
whom I find all weak.
If loving you
is enough for me;
I’ll watch you in silence
unknowingly.

Somehow to you, I cannot speak,
It’s true what they say-
“I just can’t breathe”

…so all to myself, I keep.
So all to myself, I keep.

For all the twist and bliss;
For all the butterflies in my sky;
I thank you, Love, for this-
You’re my secret joy, one of a kind.

If only you could see me now
perhaps, I’d have opened this stupid mouth;
If only I’d ever said just anything-

…but all to myself, I keep.
Still, all to myself, I keep.

Saturdays don't start much worse than this.

Here's something random really:

1) It’s hard enough to have to deal with lack of common sense… but HONESTY is something practical. Please.

2) If something goes wrong, I'm not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information. Period.

3) Is it a right to remain ignorant? Yes? Go back to No. 1 :-)

I just can't identify with that kind of work/life ethic. That goes without saying.

Nothing helps a bad mood like spreading it around(!)

I wish I could tag you twice, Leah. I do.

The rest, if you’re reading this, you’re tagged.

You heard me. Don’t make me repeat myself, unless you want to be tagged twice. That’ll be 50 things altogether. Nice. That should take another life.

…I’m sorry, but that’s the only way to un-tag yourself :-)

So you wish you never read this.

Did I not tell you that? :-))

God, I love tags, I do. Grrh.

So I was somewhere [t]here.

The blogs have taken a back seat these past weeks. I've nothing to report. Life is ruling. Attentions are elsewhere. Heart is swollen with goodness. Having a ball.

Just thought I'd take 5 minutes to update this rather than keep my sweet grass sushis top story. I’d been on a vacation that not many knew two weeks ago. Though I knew I would be found out, eventually, but it was not meant to be kept as a secret, either. Anyway, it all happened so fast that the next thing I knew I was home again. So I don’t think there's a need for more information. In short, it was rather a quick break from everything else, which I enjoyed myself (and with the exception of a few friends). Upon returning home, I didn’t get that much needed rest as I had expected, either, (from what seemed like an adventurous but really fun kind of trip anyway). But my sleep is recovering really nicely somehow. I’ve been staying at the college now during this Chinese New Year’s break, when I should be home I know, but I really need the rest I had promised myself. I knew if I were to be home, I would have nothing of the sort- I would eventually be out or probably just anywhere but home and finally returned with restlessness. Although there seems like nothing much to do around here in college, I find myself more useful at the end of the day; by cleaning up the room, flipping a few pages of that colouful atlas of Parasitology, which actually happened by accident, and spending more time watching cartoons at night, while being wrapped up in a thermal blanket. Well, some nights were unusually cold though it didn’t rain for days. Well I might be just odd, but then again I was fulfilled.

Speaking of Cold, I wonder if there was ever ice developing on the toilet water, because the seat had gone a bit chilly the as of late. Or prolly it was just me. Heck.

Btw, here's some souvenir for you (sorry, I couldn't get much during the trip, really)

I'll definitely make a come back, I promise.

Have a good day all year round, sweet peeps ;-)

Posto! Posto!

So weekend is finally here, but it’s ending soon. It’s been 3 weeks since. Sure, how time flies. It was a tough week for me overall (compared to the previous weeks, really). There were tears and laughter throughout… an obvious indication of the emotions- all of which were running high. Time was never enough well adjusted, as I wanted it to be. I never got to finish the whole pre-reading thing in time. And I was pretty much affected by those around me who were living their lives like nothing bad ever happened and that it was probably the best week (if not, nothing unusual) ever! Okay, so I might not be the only one who’d been in tears (and getting all touchy-feely about things). In fact, those expressions weren’t published to public. Reason being; I just couldn’t let them. Well yes, there were some who were somehow able to read those signs using whatever mechanism hidden therein. Yet, I still couldn’t tell them about the whole recurring story of my life as much as I wanted to. I didn’t know how. Plus, I wasn’t so sure about the expectations and how would they react to those things or would they actually react at all. I’m pretty sure that they also knew that the things that I thought a lot about just don’t have a definite answer. I’d be disappointed either way. So the only existence I could rely on was God, still is, and to Him alone I pray to make firm of my heart and faith and make me a stronger person each day. I’m afraid if I ever told a person, any person in fact… the outcome wouldn’t be so pretty. He/ she would tell me how I think too much unnecessarily and that I should cut myself some slack and something along those lines. So, I don’t bother. I do believe in one thing though, that if anything, no one has the right to take something that you feel most important to you, away from you… no one but yourself. Even if what is right is wrong, (yet that’s another thing to ponder about) you’ll find it out eventually. The truth. All I’m saying is that you may not always get the answer right away easily, but you can definitely direct yourself to it, to what you believe is right in your heart, your intuition, your subconscious mind… the answer is within (no matter how trite that sounds, yes).

Ahh, meanwhile, I’ve been struggling- doing my best here as much as I can. True, it’s been hard adjusting but I’m not giving in. So things are just getting started and that maybe, I’m not pushing start yet. I just realized the very fact that it’s actually difficult to make balance of the things you want to strive for in this life and of course, the next life… which I believe, it is almost and perhaps, the most logical thing to say that it’s even more difficult to fulfill something important without denying or striving less for something which also appears equally important. It can also be described as in another situation where it is impossible to completely fulfill one’s right without oppressing or denying the right of others. The bottom line is: you can’t make everyone happy…or yourself happy as always, but that still depends on how much you’re willing to sacrifice your own things to get all that, be them anything (without having yourself killed, of course, as in this case- that’s the limit) and deep down I know I haven’t given much as a Muslim.

Alright, so I believe some might think that I’m being overly depressed now as they go on reading these lines… I tell you what, I AM NOT. Lol. Even when you want me to, really. So stop analyzing my feelings from this point forward when I’m pretty sure I know what I am feeling or not feeling. I’m not always negative about myself, but even so, I don’t expect myself to be all positive and optimistic, either. Why, it’s hard enough to be it and stay that way. So I breakdown a lot these days, I don’t eat well and that I may not read enough or too much. But I AM giving myself some space indeed- a space to relax and spread out. Not too much nor too far… just about enough. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate your concern I do. And trust me, if anything, I am the most grateful person on Earth to be cared about but just please, don’t treat me like I’m some kind of problematic and impossible kid to deal with who needs special and undivided attention. It’s just that one has to know that different people have different ways of being at ease. Who knows, I might go crazy and be at peace. Haha. So being crazy is another thing, but you get my drift lol. Now that you know the fact, don’t tell me “to cut me some slack” when you don’t even know what that means!

No hard feelings, people. Me loves you guys.

ALL SMILES,
r_L

Whatever.

Sigh. Nothing is going right at home, I’m bored, no responsibilities, can’t even motivate myself to get involved with anything or anyone and just feel generally low. Maybe it’s time to replan that whole pre-Kuantan thing. Then again, 9 days seem too short a time for all the troubles eh? Good God, bless the procrastinator in me.

Anyways, here I am, a well known food thief… y’know, the one who sneaks out for some "light snacks" in the dark, particularly at midnight when everyone else is asleep. Or perhaps just a room refrigerator breaker. It’s not like I’m craving or anything *rolls eyes* but I just feel like eating. Lol. Leah thinks I eat a lot, while Dad suggests that perhaps it’s a lot more normal to see me eat that much. I somehow “solve” the problem by coming up with a typical excuse that I bet no one ever believes- that I’ll marry a chef someday… living by a weak basis of marriage where he’d cook for me and feed me like a princess. But they would definitely buy it, if the guy left me the next day for no reason. Lol. Alright, so I eat like a horse, yet not a vegan… I EAT A HORSE or possibly anything. From a whole cake to crumbs, I’ll have them down like nothing else. I’m a small woman, blessed with a giant appetite in me. So marry me, please? ;)

All crap aside, I had a great time with Leah today. We talked like there’s no tomorrow! Which is true by the way. I won’t be seeing her much until God knows when. Too bad she had a spill of sambal or chili paste on her cloth when we had nasi lemak for breakfast, which funnily gave her a new T pattern on it- an absolute identification. Like, everyone, I’m a woman. Can you see my uterus? LMAO. So she wished we never met today. But I guess she prolly just realized that it didn’t take much to make my day anyway. XD

So alright, just as I thought these ideas were oozing out, they sounded lame the moment I had a second read. It’s 2.29 AM in the morning and these brownies taste sooo good.

I’m a butt of all the jokes,
God, make me wonderful!

Me-out.
